Most tutors start teaching. We start with a diagnosis. The Gap Analysis comes first — then we decide what to do about it.
We talk about where your child is, what the target is, and what you've already tried. No charge for this. It's how I decide whether I can actually help.
Your child completes a diagnostic session — not a mock, but a structured assessment of their reasoning patterns, error types, and exam approach. I produce a written report: specific gaps, prioritised by impact.
I tell you whether the target school is realistic, marginally ambitious, or out of reach — based on the diagnosis, not optimism. If it's not the right fit, I'll say so now.
If we proceed: targeted sessions addressing the gaps in the report, in priority order. Progress is measurable. We review at regular intervals.
Sessions are one hour. Booked individually — no block commitment required, though most families book a regular slot.
1:1 is the highest-touch, most resource-intensive option. I take one new 1:1 student at a time within my available daily slot. If the waiting list is full, I'll tell you.
I won't take on a student if I don't believe I can meaningfully close the gap in the time available.
I'd rather lose a booking than take your money on a maybe.
Send an email with: your child's current year group, their target school(s), what they've done so far, and what you're most worried about. That's enough to start the conversation.
I respond personally, usually within one working day. No automated replies.
